Baked Camembert With Garlic And Tomatoes
Ingredients (9)
- 1 whole camembert (250 g)
- 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil (30 ml), divided
- 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
- 250 g cherry tomatoes
- 1 small baguette (about 200 g), sliced
- 4 slices jamon (about 60 g), optional
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste

- Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a large baking tray with baking paper.
- Score the top of the camembert in a crosshatch, drizzle with half the olive oil and tuck the garlic slices into the cuts.
- Sprinkle the cheese with the Italian herbs, season with salt and pepper and place it in the centre of the tray.
- Scatter the cherry tomatoes around the cheese, drizzle with a little olive oil and season with salt.
- Arrange the baguette slices around the edge of the tray and brush with the remaining olive oil.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the cheese is molten and the tomatoes are soft and blistered and the bread is golden.
- Serve hot, dipping the toasted baguette into the cheese with tomatoes and jamon if using.
